Indonesia will host the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 from 25 September to 5 October. The tournament begins on 24 September in Hong Kong, China, with Division 2 matches. Division 1 will then take place in Indonesia from 25 September.
The FIFA ASEAN Cup brings together 14 national teams. They include all 11 ASEAN member nations and three guest teams from the wider region. Indonesia and Hong Kong, China, will host the two divisions.
The tournament will take place during the September-October FIFA Men’s International Match Calendar window.
Indonesia Hosts FIFA ASEAN Cup
Jakarta and Bandung will host Division 1 of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026. Matches will take place at two major football venues: Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta and Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung.
Eight teams will compete in two groups:
- Group A: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh
- Group B: Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Pakistan
Indonesia will start its campaign against Singapore on 25 September. The match will take place at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. Indonesia will then face Malaysia on 28 September. Its final group match will be against Bangladesh on 1 October.
The Division 1 final and third-place match will take place at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on 5 October.
14 Teams, Two Divisions
The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 will use a two-division format. Eight teams will compete in Division 1 in Indonesia. Six teams will compete in Division 2 in Hong Kong, China.
Division 2 includes:
- Group A: Hong Kong, China, Laos, Brunei Darussalam
- Group B: Cambodia, Myanmar, Timor-Leste
Each team will play every other team in its group once. The group winners will advance to their division final.
In Indonesia, the two group runners-up will also play a third-place match. This format means the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup will have two division champions. Division 2 matches will take place at Kai Tak Stadium and Mong Kok Stadium in Hong Kong, China. The Division 2 final is scheduled for 3 October.
A New Platform for International Football
The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 gives national teams another opportunity to play competitive international football.
The tournament also creates a new event for football fans across Southeast Asia. Its place in the FIFA Men’s International Match Calendar allows participating teams to compete during an established international window.
For Indonesia, the tournament brings regional football to Jakarta and Bandung. Fans will have the chance to watch matches involving teams such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
The tournament also gives Indonesia a home campaign to follow. The national team will compete in Division 1 while Jakarta and Bandung host matches throughout the group stage and finals.
