Chief of Engineering

Job Summary

Marianna Resort & Convention is a five-star destination resort and convention property set in the natural beauty of Tuk Tuk, Samosir. With extensive guest facilities, event spaces, and premium accommodations, we are committed to operational excellence, safety, and sustainability.

We are currently seeking an experienced Chief of Engineering to lead the Engineering Department and ensure the seamless operation, maintenance, and long-term integrity of all resort assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the Engineering & Maintenance team
• Ensure optimal performance of all MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, STP, WTP, fire safety, and BMS
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and environmental requirements
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and long-term asset planning
• Manage engineering budgets, energy efficiency initiatives, and cost control
• Coordinate closely with Operations, Rooms, F&B, and Events teams
• Lead capital expenditure projects, renovations, and technical upgrades
• Act as the primary technical authority during emergency situations
• Collaborate with leadership team and all staff
• Compliance with Health & Safety
• Managing Project and Capital Improvements
• Create a positive overall guest experience
• Sustainability and Energy Management

Requirements

• 5+ years of Engineering experience in 4–5 star hotels, resorts, or large convention properties
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
• 3+ years in a leadership role as Chief / Assistant Chief Engineer
• Technical expertise in hotel engineering systems and infrastructure
• Strong understanding of safety, sustainability, and energy management
• Strong background in hotel facilities management, including experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems.
• Proven record of effective leadership, positive interpersonal and communication skills, and the proven ability to motivate the team effectively.
• Financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Strong in project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work on flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Willing to be based in Tuk Tuk, Samosir, North Sumatra
